I hold the British Wheel of Yoga Teachers' Diploma and have been a teaching member of the Wheel for 35 years. I have also completed the Foundation Course of Vini Yoga, Great Britain.
I was the founder member of the Oxford Yoga Teachers' Study Group which was a group of of Oxford's most experienced yoga teachers who met regularly over a period of 11 years to further their professional development.
Twenty five years ago I trained as qualified psycho dynamic counsellor and practised as a counsellor for 12 years. Such insight as I have as to the human condition has been informed as much by the Western psycho dynamic theory and practice as the classic yoga texts.
I live in Oxford with my wife, Teresa. We have three grown up children and, so far, two grand children.
A few words about my personal experience of yoga:
I practice yoga every day, sometimes in a structured way, and often taking advantages of occasional moments. Yoga has been a thread that has run through most of my adult life. It has kept me in superb health and condition as well as happy and content. It has been a great source of strength in dealing with life's challenges and difficulties.
My own insight and practice continue to grow and develop all the time, both spontaneously and through study and professional development.
I can think of no greater pleasure than to practise yoga out of doors in a lovely place. Nor can I think of any greater priviledge than to do what I do, which is to facilitate such an invaluable discipline as yoga to lovely people in a delightful setting. Yoga is not just an essential discipline, it is a joy.
